Our Latest Case Study: Wounded Warrior Project

ModSquad

How the right team can make all the difference.

Sometimes, moderation is just moderation. Sometimes it’s more.

Our work with the Wounded Warrior Project was not just moderation.

In 2003, the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) began its journey as a grassroots effort providing basic care and comfort items to hospitalized veterans, specifically the first wounded service members returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

As the post-service needs of veterans evolved, WWP expanded its support. Today, WWP offers warriors and their families rehabilitative care, mental health, career counseling, and advocacy.

For WWP, it is all about engaging with veterans and building a community.

So, when they decided to create a gaming community on Discord for their 170,000+ members, they turned to ModSquad for help.

While we are ourselves pros at moderation, have extensive experience working in the gaming sector, and are Discord experts, this project required something more — the right team.

In this case, the team includes veterans or family members of those in active service: a team that truly understands the community they are moderating.

We’re humbled to have contributed to WWP’s noble mission supporting veterans and their families. And we’re honored to have veterans and their family members in our Mod network.
