Ascensos, the Scottish-based contact centre management specialist, has presented Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity (GCHC) with a cheque for £17,500 after a fantastic fundraising effort.

Each member of the 1,000 strong Ascensos team, across its sites in Motherwell and Clydebank, played a part in raising money for the charity throughout 2017.

The team beat its own ambitious £10,000 target by holding regular events including fun Fridays, a pay day lottery and seasonal activities such as Halloween dress up events, an Easter hamper raffle and Christmas parties.

Away from the office, teams from Ascensos entered a 26 mile kilt walk from Glasgow to Loch Lomond, took part in the Great Scottish Run and Loch Ness Marathon. Separately, a team from Clydebank beat its Motherwell counterparts in a charity football match.

One employee raised over £1,000 undertaking a zip slide across the Clyde from the Titan Crane while another raised over £300 by shaving off his six month old beard.

Ascensos is a specialist contact centre business that manages bespoke and specialised multi-channel customer contact solutions, including social media customer engagement and insights for a range of blue chip retailers.

After a recent tour of the hospital, Ascensos confirmed GCHC as its charity partner for 2018.

Commenting on his visit to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, John Devlin, CEO of Ascensos, said: “We have a truly dedicated team at Ascensos who are passionate about supporting organisations that make a real difference to people’s lives. It was an honour to present this cheque to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity on behalf of the team and I am excited to announce that we will continue to partner with the charity this year.

“This is a wonderful charity that supports so many families across Scotland every year and I am extremely proud of how much the team embraced this fundraising effort and dedicated so much of their own time in supporting the hospital.”

Kirsten Sinclair, Director of Fundraising at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity said: “We are incredibly grateful to Ascensos for their support throughout 2017 and for this very generous donation. It was wonderful to see the teams take on so many different fundraising activities with such enthusiasm and determination.

“We are delighted that Ascensos has chosen to support Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity again in 2018. This invaluable support will continue to help us ensure that children and families from across Scotland receive the best possible care and experience at Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children.”
